MASON CITY, Iowa — Mayor Bill Schickel honored veterans at Mason City’s 104th Annual Veterans Day Celebration in Central Park.
The event, organized by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association, is one of Iowa's longest-running Veterans Day observances. Mayor Schickel highlighted the importance of service, saying, “At a time when headlines can make us question what holds our country together, ceremonies like this remind us that the foundation remains strong—built by those who quietly serve, day after day, expecting nothing in return.” The theme, “Honoring Those Who Never Stop Serving,” focused on veterans who continue to contribute to their communities.
