The Cape & Islands United Way (CIUW) has issued emergency SNAP relief funding to several community partners across the Cape and Islands to help feed individuals and families in need. This relief effort is in addition to the more than $100,000 already committed this year to addressing food insecurity.
“This SNAP crisis has exposed even greater challenges in making sure everyone has enough food to thrive,” said Mark Skala, president/CEO of the Cape and Islands United Way. “I recently heard a story about an elderly man at a food pantry who was on his knees praying for more eggs than were being distributed.
