The St. John Bosco, Los Alamitos, St. Pius X-St. Matthias, Warren, Valley Christian, Cerritos, Gahr and Bellflower football teams have one goal in common, and that’s winning a CIF Southern Section championship this season.
All eight teams are putting the the finishing touches on their game plans for the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS playoffs on Friday.
Here’s a look at what each team needs to do in order to win and advance to the semifinals:
1. St. John Bosco (Division 1): The game plan to open the Division 1 playoffs should be straightforward: Sophomore quarterback Koa Malau’ulu and the Braves’ offense should take what Orange Lutheran gives them. That might look like running backs Maliq Allen, Ashton Keyes and Corey Hinton combining for at least 200 yards rushing. It could also look like
