ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Temperatures will be cold (but not as cold) tonight, as lows drop to the mid to upper 30s. A shift in winds to the southwest will bring increasing low-level moisture and some warmer temperatures.
The warming trend will continue into Wednesday, with highs climbing into the low to mid 60s in North Georgia (with 50s in the highest elevations) and upper 60s in Central Georgia.
Looking ahead to the long term, the worst of the cold will be behind us by Thursday. Expect a steady rise in temperatures through the remainder of the work week, with afternoon highs fighting their way back up into the low to mid 70s this weekend. Overnight lows will also gradually increase from the mid-40s to the 50s.
Rain chances remain low through the weekend.
