Campo Verde High School senior Sofie Theurer earned a perfect composite score of 36 on the ACT, placing her among the top 0.21% of test-takers nationwide, according to the most recent ACT Profile Report.
Of the more than 1.3 million students who took the college entrance exam, only 2,958 achieved the highest possible score.
Theurer was also named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, an honor recognizing the top 1% of students who took the Preliminary SAT.
She credited her performance to consistent preparation and said her coursework at Campo Verde helped her develop the critical thinking and time management skills needed for the exam.
“I think sometimes people assume it’s all about being naturally smart, but honestly, most of it is being consistent and putting in effort,” Theurer
