SPOKANE, Wash. — With all ballot returns counted as of Monday, Sarah Dixit holds a lead over incumbent Jonathan Bingle for the Spokane City Council District 1 seat.
On Monday night, Bingle posted a statement on his Facebook page , congratulating Dixit on her win and thanking his supporters. As of Monday at 4 p.m., the two candidates were separated by only 156 votes.
"Life goes on, I’ve still got a beautiful wife and three incredible children and a good life ahead of me. Life is good," said Bingle by phone Tuesday.
He confirmed with KREM 2 News he called Dixit to concede the race and congratulate her. He says he does not plan to ask for a recount of the votes.
