Accounting and auditing professional Julie James has been named university controller at Tennessee State University.
James will oversee accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, according to a press release from the university. She has worked for more than 20 years in risk management, financial operations and organizational improvement in the corporate, nonprofit and public accounting sectors.

TSU president Dwayne Tucker announced James’ appointment on Nov. 10.
