ANKENY, Iowa —

An Ankeny neighborhood is being evacuated after an underground propane tank leak was reported at a nearby hardware store.

Fire crews are currently evacuating homes north of the Ace Hardware store at 3020 SW Oralabor Rd.

The Ankeny Fire Department says maintenance work was being done on the propane tank and a valve malfunctioned.
