INDIANA —

If you live in Indiana, there's a chance you could be able to see the aurora borealis, aka the Northern Lights, Tuesday night.

The Northern Lights are expected to be visible in a number of states at night into Wednesday morning, including part of Indiana.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the lights will be visible between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. ET.

Northern parts of Indiana will have the best chance of seeing the lights, but it is possible they could be seen further south. The aurora does not have to be directly overhead, but can be seen from as far as 1,000 kilometers away when conditions are right, according to the NOAA.
