AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A man is heading to prison after a chase and crash earlier this summer sent two Akron officers to the hospital.
Summit County prosecutors say Mikal Gamble, 32, will be locked up for 59 months and have a 6-year driver’s license suspension.
Police said back on May 5, Gamble crashed into an apartment building on Tate Terrace.
Officers arrived and tried to pull over Gamble, but according to police, he hit a police cruiser and sped away.
Officers gave chase, and police say that’s when Gamble rammed another police cruiser multiple times.
According to police, Gamble only stopped when his vehicle was pinned against a tree.
He was then arrested.
Police say the incident sent two officers to a local hospital.
