S&P/TSX composite posts modest gain, U.S. markets mixed

TORONTO — Canada's main stock index finished higher on Tuesday while U.S. markets posted mixed results. The S&P/TSX composite index was up 92.62 points at 30,409.25. In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 559.33 points at 47,927.96.
