Armed cops swarmed a street in north Manchester following reports of a stabbing at 4.10pm.

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in an alleyway near the Abraham Moss tram stop in the Cheetham Hill area. The teenager, who was taken to hospital, has been left with "potentially life-threatening injuries", police said.

A number of ambulances and police vehicles were at the scene, with a police helicopter also seen overhead.
