Some Italian pasta brands might stop selling their products in the United States in response to severe potential tariffs from the U.S. government.
The U.S. Commerce Department proposed a 91.74% tariff on the pasta from 13 Italian brands that would go into effect in January 2026. That, added to the 15% baseline tariff on all goods from the European Union, would more than double the cost of importing pasta into the U.S., which is causing several of the affected companies to consider pulling their products from shelves.
