On Nov. 11, Akron Children's opened the Tom and Jill Zidian Family Autism Center, which it aims to make inviting for patients and families. To some, that goal has already been achieved.

Adjustable lights, reading nooks and wall enclosures with bubbles streaming through them are some of the features of the facility at 130 W. Exchange St. in Akron.

The new center offers diagnostic and treatment services, behavioral and social skills interventions and care coordination and family navigation services.

Korbin Baker, an 11-year-old, got his first look of the new Tom and Jill Zidian Family Autism Center at Akron Children's Nov. 7. And his mother, Melissa Baker, said he liked what he saw.
