KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - WVLT Sports Director Rick Russo, a staple in the world of East Tennessee sports, once again has kidney cancer. The diagnosis has prompted him to reach out to his community for support and prayer, something he says he’s gotten a lot of.

“I am by no means a rich man, but I am rich in love,” Rick told WVLT’s Ted Hall. “And I feel like the love that I have shared and tried to exude and exhibit in our community over the years is coming back to me now tenfold. And for that, I want to say thank you to the folks out there.”

The news marks the second time Rick has had to face a kidney cancer diagnosis.
