PRESCOTT – The sound of bagpipes and falling snow filled the air at the Fort Town’s Remembrance Day ceremony on Tuesday.

Hundreds of Prescott residents braved the elements to come together on the Fort Wellington field to pay their respects to those who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

“We haven’t had a wintery Remembrance Day here in quite some time, so we were due for one,” said Veronica Burchell, president of the Fort Wellington Legion Branch 97. “It was very moving to see the number of people that came out, especially older people, on a day like this. I’m very grateful that there was such a good turnout.”

To begin the ceremony, Legion members and first responders marched with the flags through the snow to the sound of bagpipes.
