New data from payroll provider ADP, which stands for Automatic Data Processing, showed that U.S. companies in the private sector lost at least 11,000 jobs a week for the majority of October.
While the latest ADP monthly report said that 42,000 jobs were added in October, the most recent real-time data paints a different picture.
The NER Pulse report from ADP, released Tuesday, stated that private employers lost an average of 11,250 jobs per week during the four weeks ending on October 25. They said the data suggested that employers struggled the most during the second half of the month.
The payroll provider also said that the data was preliminary and subject to change.
