NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio -- Tie elections are unusual. One occurred Nov. 4 in the Ward 6 race for North Royalton City Council.
Most likely, though, the race won’t stay tied for long. More votes are still coming in.
According to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, incumbent Michael Wos and challenger Edward Cyngier both received 677 votes in last week’s election.
However, the elections board can receive vote-by-mail ballots four days after Election Day if the return envelopes are postmarked by the Monday before the election, or Nov. 3.
In addition, on Nov. 17, the board will evaluate provisional ballots , which are ballots used when a voter’s eligibility is in question.
Valid provisional ballots will be added to the vote counts.
