BERRIEN COUNTY, MI — Police found a combative man in the Paw Paw River after he jumped from a window and allegedly broke into a home, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Multiple 911 calls came in from the 5200 block of North Watervliet Road in Watervliet Township late in the evening on Friday, Nov. 7.
Callers reported a man appeared to be in a manic state and jumped out of a residence window.
The visibly injured man then forced his way into another home before fleeing through the yard, police said based on witness reports.
Officers found the 43-year-old Edwardsburg man standing in waist-deep water in the Paw Paw River, near the North Watervliet Road bridge.
