“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” will add a countdown segment from Chicago for the Central time zone for the first time in the more than 50-year history of the live telecast on ABC.

The countdown originating from Chicago will join the traditional segments that notch the last seconds to midnight in New York and the Spanish-language countdown that comes from Puerto Rico. “Rockin’ Eve” producer Dick Clark Productions said the Chicago installments will include a new host, live performance and on-the-ground updates and reporting throughout the evening.
