BATON ROUGE — Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill and her office is taking a look at the Brian Kelly lawsuit against LSU , AG officials told The Daily Advertiser on Tuesday.
Kelly , former LSU football head coach who was fired on Oct. 26, filed a suit in the 19th Judicial Court of East Baton Rouge Parish late Monday night seeking a declaratory judgment from the court that refutes the university's new position that he was not "formally terminated" and it wants to fire Kelly "for-cause" which could possibly prevent LSU from paying Kelly's full $54 million buyout.
According to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by the Daily Advertiser, Kelly's representatives say LSU "believes grounds for termination for cause exist." BRIAN KELLY LAWSUIT COULD COST LSU MORE THAN $54 MILLION BUYOUT
