Veterans, schoolchildren, and other members of the Chase County community gathered at the Chase County Veterans Memorial in Swope Park to celebrate and honor local veterans’ sacrifices and service.
Students from CCES, CCMS, and CCHS all participated in the ceremonies, with songs, essays, and letters dedicated to veterans.
Master of Ceremonies, Air Force veteran Col. Clay Childs, says that the students’ involvement allows veterans attending to see younger generations’ appreciation for those who have served.
