GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Scouts of America Pack 107 raised more than 200 flags at Hall County Veterans Park Tuesday morning to represent veterans and the country.
Scouts worked alongside their parents or assistants to clip new flags before pulling ropes to hang them in the wind. With help from about half of Pack 107, it took just over an hour to hang all the flags.
Cub Master Scott Sunday said the activity teaches scouts about honoring veterans.
“So we try and show them, you know, this is an honor of what we get to do, and we’re honoring all the veterans that have been here before us,” Sunday said. “And just trying to help them out as much as we can.”
This is the second year Pack 107 has raised the flags at Hall County Veterans Park.
