MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — Holding the American flag high with pride, hundreds of students welcomed veterans to the halls of Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Polk Township for a Veterans Day Parade.
"They seem so happy they seem so like inspired. They're all giving out high-fives and like they really look up to us, and it's really, really sweet," said Amara Rubino, Air Force Reserve.
Walking hand in hand, these servicemen and women are relatives of the students.
The teachers who organize the parade say this year they welcomed 90 veterans. For weeks, students have learned about the importance of Veterans Day.
