Brits are being urged to heed the UK Health Security Agency's (UKHSA) latest warning as it issues an alert about a disease that is "nearly twice as contagious" as a cold . ‌

As we head into the winter months, many of us will be finding ways to avoid catching a cold or the flu as we get into the festive season. However, the UKHSA is urging Brits to also be cautious about other illnesses that are doing the rounds. ‌

In a post of X, the health chiefs are urging parents and carers to make sure their children have received all of their routine jabs that will prevent them from becoming seriously ill. ‌

This includes polio and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccinations, which are usually given in the early years of a child's life, reports the Express.
