[WATERLOO, Iowa] — A weekend food drive is being organized to support the Northeast Iowa Food Bank as the demand for food assistance rises.
Local groups have joined forces to help after cuts to SNAP benefits. You can donate nonperishable foods and paper products this Saturday at the Walmart locations in Waterloo and Cedar Falls. Volunteers will be stationed at U-Haul trailers in the parking lots.
Donations will also be accepted at area churches on Sunday. All items collected will be delivered to the food bank on Monday.
