DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks fans chanted it for months.
On Tuesday, they got their wish.
Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison has been fired, the club announced Tuesday morning.
NBA insider Marc Stein and ESPN's Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon first reported on Harrison's imminent firing shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday -- and less than a year after Harrison infamously dealt Mavericks megastar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
"This decision reflects our continued commitment to building a championship-caliber organization, one that delivers for our players, our partners, and most importantly, our fans," Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont said.
The Mavericks said former player Michael Finley, along with Matt Riccardi, will lead the team's basketball operations in the interim.
