NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Virginia Trimble Ritter, the mother of 9-year-old Marcia Trimble, whose kidnapping and murder was solved decades after the crimes, has died.

The Metro Nashville Police Department announced her passing on Tuesday.

“Virginia Trimble’s kindness, support and closeness to generations of MNPD homicide investigators will not be forgotten,” an MNPD release said.
