FARGO — I spent a couple of weeks last summer compiling a list of the best, most impactful 75 games North Dakota State has played since moving to the Football Championship Subdivision in 2004. Having covered the program in one capacity or another since 1997 (two stints at The Forum sandwiched around six years at KFGO-AM), the most enjoyable aspect of the project was what we’ll call the OMG Factor.

That is, sifting through the newspaper’s archives or boxscores on NDSU’s website, being reminded of an outstanding contest and saying, “Oh my gawd, I’d forgotten about that game.”

The Bison opponent that elicited the OMG Factor most often was Northern Iowa. South Dakota State had the most games in the Top 75 with 10, no surprise, but UNI was second with seven. A few spawned OMGs.
