TRAVERSE CITY — This Veterans Day, the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity is highlighting their work helping veterans statewide with job training and placement.
In 2024, the state’s Veterans’ Employment Service helped provide training and placement services to more than 6,500 veterans and their spouses.
Organizers of the program say that it provides crucial resources for veterans of all backgrounds.
Dale Ginzel, a veterans’ career advisor in the Traverse City area, provides services like career guidance, vocational training, resume building and interviewing skills.
“What we do is critical in helping those veterans, whether they’re transitioning from the military or if they have been separated from the military for decades,” Ginzel said. “Those challenges that veterans face
