Shoreline communities held various ceremonies in honor of Veterans Day.
In New Haven, an annual ceremony was held at City Hall. The principal speaker was Lt. Col Alison Weir (Ret), executive director of the Connecticut Veterans legal Center.

The ceremony was presented by the City of New Haven and the Mayor’s Veteran Affairs Advisory Committee.
Charlie Pickett, commander of the Connecticut Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars, was another one of the many honorary guests who spoke at the podium.
"Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all who served. Despite a brief departure in the 1970s, Veterans Day is always celebrated on Nov. 11, marking the historic day which ended the war, to end all wars,”
