GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Chris Campos’ journey as a Marine began more than two decades ago.
“I’m from Easley, South Carolina, and I joined the Marine Corps right after high school,” Campos said. “I went to boot camp at Parris Island, became a Marine there, and I served 15 years in the Marine Corps, serving as an M1A1 tank master gunner, instructor, and crewman. I first served at 2nd tank battalion at Camp Lejeune, where I deployed three times to Iraq, and after 15 years of service, I retired after combat injuries from Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. I’m currently an SRO now with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.”
The retired Staff Sergeant said he always felt a connection to the military.
