LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — A Lincoln elementary school invited students to bring veterans in their families to school for a special Veterans Day celebration.
Fredstrom Elementary hosted a parade for veterans, with students lining the hallways holding signs and flags thanking those who served. Students with veterans in their families walked alongside them through the school.
Before the parade, students were able to check out military vehicles brought by the Nebraska National Guard.
The event was especially meaningful for Sgt. 1st Class Jasmine Main with the Nebraska National Guard, who attended with her son.
“This is special, so obviously I wear this uniform every day, but I do it for these guys,” Main said. “I’ve been in 18 years, so lots of cool times, lots of missing stuff, but it’s impo
