FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — With SNAP benefits temporarily paused, Capital Credit Union is working with the Emergency Food Pantry to provide extra support.

The credit union donated $15,000 as well as non-perishable food items from both branch locations.

The donation comes at a time when the pantry has seen an increased need for food for families.

Daily clients have doubled in the first week of November to 150.

Many families are sharing concerns about being able to get food on their tables.

“We really have seen the community step up and take care of each other. Which really fits along with what our mission is, and really just how we could be taking care of each other in these times. But we also know that it’s a seasonal thing, it’s not a SNAP pause thing, it’s a year-round need,” said Kristi
