BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office tells 13News it will likely be days before it makes a decision whether or not to file charges after a woman was shot and killed outside a Whitestown home.
Police said 32-year-old Maria Florinda Rios Perez was fatally shot Wednesday, Nov. 5 after she showed up at the wrong house to clean in a Whitestown neighborhood. The alleged shooter in the home shot her through the door. Whitestown Police said they received a call for a possible home invasion.
In its statement, the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office said, “Indiana’s Stand Your Ground law and the unique circumstances of this case make a careful, detailed review essential before determining what steps we may take next.”
