SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - While multiple schools across Sarasota County got to participate in the Veterans Day parade, one group was left out: Riverview High School JROTC students.
Parents and students at the school said 150 students were waiting at the school at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday to be picked up by school buses provided by the school district but said the buses didn’t show up until 10:15 a.m., 15 minutes after the parade started.
“The crowd was already dissipated; they were tearing down. You could see the frustration and disappointment in these students’ eyes because they couldn’t do what they were supposed to do,” said Parent of Riverview High School JROTC program Charles Wolbert.
