MODESTO, Calif. —
Tuesday is Veterans Day, a national holiday honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.
While schools and many offices are closed, communities across the nation are taking time to recognize those who sacrificed for our freedom. In Modesto, thousands have lined the streets for the annual Veterans Day Parade, organized by the Veterans Chamber of Commerce of Northern California.
Organizers say everyone is invited to come out, wave their flags, and show appreciation for local heroes.
The parade kicked off near the Modesto Library in downtown at 9 a.m., traveling down I Street before ending at the Gallo Center for the Arts.
Following the parade, a special ceremony will take place at the Gallo Center to honor veterans and their families. Doors open at 9:4
