The Longmont Housing Authority Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Monday night to adopt a new tenant selection plan for the Suites Supportive Housing Facility by modifying their Housing Choice Voucher Program administrative plan.
Instead of relying on an old waiting list, where many applicants couldn’t be contacted, the Housing Authority will now let partner agencies connect staff directly with people experiencing homelessness who are ready to move in.
In a second unanimous vote, the board authorized the Housing Authority’s participation in the city’s employer-based child care program, allocating up to $30,000 from its fund balance to help staff cover costs.
The LHA Board of Commissioners is composed of the seven members of the City Council. Commissioner Matthew Popkin was absent
