SALT LAKE CITY — Michael Aaron Jayne, age 43, is accused of smashing some type of liquid through a small opening in a closed jail door.
Jayne is accused of killing Santaquin police Sgt. Bill Hooser on Interstate 15 in May 2024. He was reportedly behind the wheel of a semitruck that hit Hooser.

He was charged with nine felonies , including aggravated murder. Jayne is being held in the Canyons location of Utah County Jail in a capital case.
According to police documents, on Nov. 10, Jayne was seen on video “propell[ing] an unknown liquid through a closed door at a uniformed Utah County Sheriff Deputy.”
