HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Gov. Josh Green announced Tuesday that Public Utilities Commission Chair Leodoloff “Leo” Asuncion, Jr. will be leaving his post on Monday, Nov. 17.
“Leo’s decades of work in planning and policy, including his leadership at the PUC, have provided meaningful service to Hawaii,” Green said. “We appreciate his commitment to public service and wish him well in his next chapter.”
The PUC regulates all public utility companies operating in the state of Hawaii.
The commission’s job is to ensure that companies offer safe, reliable, and affordable services that align with public interest.
“It has truly been an honor to be of service to the state,” Asuncion said.
