OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - OPPD is warning customers about reports of an employee impersonation scam.
According to OPPD , a customer said the scammer knocked on the door, claiming to be an OPPD employee offering a new meter.
The scammer claimed to need access into the customer’s home. When asked to provide identification, the scammer became belligerent and left.
OPPD says legitimate employees always carry ID badges.
There also may be contractors that do not carry badges. If that is the case, customers can always contact OPPD 402-536-4131 in the Omaha area or 1-877-536-4131 outside of Omaha to verify the authenticity of the worker.
