LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating after officers deployed tasers on a man accused of assaulting a woman and threatening self-harm Tuesday.
Lincoln Police officers were called to the area of 22nd and D Streets at 11:25 a.m. after a report of a “nature unknown” call for service.
A 25-year-old woman reportedly told officers a 46-year-old man she knew had assaulted her. She reported the man was armed with a knife and was threatening to harm himself, police said.
Officers found the man trying to harm himself with the knife and deployed tasers to stop him from causing further harm, according to police.
The man was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
