ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Flight cancellations and delays continue Tuesday at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as the government shutdown enters its second month.
As of 6:30 p.m., FlightAware is reporting that 121 flights have been canceled and 203 have been delayed at the airport. Below is a breakdown of canceled flights by airlines:
Delta & Delta Connection: 29
Southwest: 7
United: 4
JetBlue: 4
American & American Eagle: 1
More than 1,800 flights have been canceled nationwide.
Since Friday, airlines have canceled about 8,000 flights under Federal Aviation Administration orders to cut their air traffic by 4%. Flight cuts increased to 6% on Tuesday and are expected to reach 10% by Friday.
