Garden Plain veterans turn cans into Honor Flights for fellow heroes

GARDEN PLAIN, Kan. (KAKE) — Two Kansas brothers are proving that small acts can make a big difference, one can at a time.

For the past seven years, Jim and Gene Scheer — better known as the Garden Plain Can Brothers — have been collecting and crushing aluminum cans to help send veterans on trips of a lifetime.
