EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB) - Funeral home director Philip Pietras faces six additional charges in East Windsor following an extensive investigation into allegations of fraud involving pre-planned funeral services.
Pietras is now facing nearly 100 charges, including larceny and intent to defraud funeral service contracts. He is accused of taking payments from customers and spending the money on himself.
The new charges come after previous arrests in other towns where Pietras operated funeral homes, including Vernon and Coventry.
The investigation centers on allegations that Pietras defrauded customers who had made pre-arrangements for funeral services.
The State’s Board of Embalmers revoked his license in July. Channel 3’s I-Team has been following this investigation since it began.
