LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — A Lafourche Parish family is suing the school board, saying the adults responsible for keeping their daughter safe failed her. The girl, a student at Sixth Ward Middle School, was expelled after what her lawyers call a final straw, after a full day of harassment.

Her lawyers say there were AI-generated nude photos of her circulating around school, and she was victimized. Attorney Benjamin Comeaux says the girl reported what was happening to multiple adults — but no one stepped in.

“She did an excellent job of notifying those who needed to be notified, and adults failed her," Comeaux said.
