Another pedestrian has been struck and killed in Anchorage, marking the 14th pedestrian fatality in the city this year.
Anchorage Police and Fire responded around 10:22 Monday night to the 9400 block of King Street after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.
Officials say an adult male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling north on King Street. He was not in a marked or unmarked crosswalk. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
APD reports that the driver remained on scene and has been cooperating with investigators. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
