BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An Indiana University lecturer said she was pulled from teaching one of her classes after a student complaint over a lecture discussing white supremacy.
Under an Indiana law SEA 202, in effect since 2024, college students and employees can report instructors, employees and universities that they believe fail to promote free inquiry, expression or intellectual diversity.
Jessica Adams, a lecturer in the IU School of Social Work , said a student in her class for master's students, “Diversity, Human Rights and Social Justice," made the complaint to the office of Sen. Jim Banks (R-Indiana). A spokesperson for Banks said he was not available for an interview for this story.
