The six-week government shutdown could end within the next few days, with the House expected to vote as early as Wednesday.

The legislation would reopen the federal government, fund nutrition benefits through next year and give back pay to workers who were furloughed.
Ohio U.S. Sen. Jon Husted, serving his first term as a member of the Senate, spoke out on the vote Tuesday, ahead of the House’s looming vote.
"It's nice we got it done, but it's a tragedy for the American people that it took us 41 days to get there," Husted said.
Husted talked about the process behind securing the needed votes in the Senate, praising a group of Democrats who sided with Republicans in the vote.
