A motorcyclist, identified Tuesday as Santa Maria resident Vincent Hargadon, 30, died after a traffic collision Sunday morning with a vehicle in the 600 block of East Boone Street, according to Santa Maria Police.

On Nov. 9, at approximately 10:58 a.m., the SMPD, along with the Santa Maria Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Officers located the motorcyclist lying in the roadway. Emergency personnel immediately began life-saving measures. The rider was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment but later died.

The crash is under investigation, which is being handled by Officer Matthews of the Traffic Unit, who can be reached at 805928-3781 ext. 1608.
